Burning Permits

The Town of Stanley requires DNR burning permits for the entire town. You may obtain a year-long permit on their website at dnr.wi.gov.

On the day you wish to burn, you must check with the DNR after 11:00 AM to determine if burning is being allowed. If you are allowed to burn, you must notify the Barron County Sheriff’s Department of your controlled burn by calling 715-537-3106.

You can view the Town of Stanley’s burning ordinance by clicking on the Ordinance & Resolutions tab on this website.

Even if you have a permit and burning is being allowed, be aware that you are still responsible for your burn and are liable for any damages.
